The T-Box arrived in New Zealand with the company Telstra looking forward to greatly increasing its subscriber base with the digital box. Kapiti, Wellington and Christchurch would be the first of places enjoying the T-Box features while areas apart from these will also be able to have access to the chic T-Boxes. These are going to be new networks set up which will also see the other regions of the country enjoy the digital satellite broadcasting services. The T-Box was launched only some time back in the home country of Australia of the company Telstra.
A300GB hard drive, great recording storage capacity, High Definition viewing are just some of the great features offered the T-Box. This apart, people may also enjoy recording two channels at a time while watching a third program with the ‘three tuners’ the digi box has. The on-demand IPTV content may also be had access to with the T-Box.
This apart there will be many unique channels accessible only to the T-Box subscribers when compared with the others. While soon the company also plans to launch its own On-Demand Video services.
The T-Box as of now is charged $499 and additional installation charges for new customers would be $199. The digi box which was initially supposed to be released in the month of June has now finally launched but at the same time also sees competition from rival TVNZ-backed TiVo Boxes.
The TiVo Boxes haven’t done phenomenally well as far as their sales is concerned, thus now being sold at a very low and discounted price. This is going to be interesting as to how it affects the now launched T-Box sales in New Zealand.
